(In thick Brooklyn accent): "So what? Who cares?"

Yes, the title of this post is in reference to SNL's parody of Joy Behar from The View. Look it up. And yes, I just referenced Joy Behar from The View. I'm not as ashamed as I should be.

So what? Who cares?

So what if you have a blog?

Who cares if you threw a really fun birthday party for your kid or made teriyaki chicken for dinner?

Well, apparently I do. Because I stalk you. If you have a blog, chances are I have seen it/heard of it/look at it daily. Don't be creeped out. Maybe I enjoy reading about your dining room table that you painted, or how you sewed that adorable dish-drying mat. And yes, I would love some step-by-step instructions on how to make them. Thanks for asking.

And oh.... wait! You're renovating your house?! Of course I want to see pictures! Please don't make me wait a few days to show me those new light fixtures that go on the front porch. WE NEED TO SEE THE FIXTURES!

Don't even get me started on that fruit pizza you made at the beach. Delicious. And it looks like you all had a great time!

I really don't have a problem. Promise. It's just that, for some reason, I love reading about the mundane details of your life. Even if I have no idea who you are (and vice versa, of course).

Why is this? I have no clue. I've been trying to figure it out for the past couple of weeks. Maybe I just like to see how my life relates to yours. I've always been interested in how other people live their lives. It's the same reason America is obsessed with reality television. We all want to relate.

Now, I realize that all two of you (me included) who will read this blog might not be as fascinated with my life. I also realize that I am a 21-year-old college girl that has no children yet, or a cute house to renovate. I don't quite fit the newlywed/new mom genre of bloggers.

But let's get back to those two questions at the beginning of this post:

So what? Well... interesting things do happen to me occasionally. I have some friends. I can get crafty at times, and sometimes I might cook something that doesn't require punching holes in a plastic film. I also have some original thoughts about life, faith, and why the Milo's on Lakeshore never puts enough powdered sugar on their apple pies.

Who cares? Maybe you will. Or not.

.....................................................................................

This inaugural post would not be complete without a picture. So here's one of a lamp that my mother and I made this summer (Hi mom! I know you're the only other person reading this blog. If I even decide to tell you about it).

Told you I was crafty.
